Protest in Rajya Sabha over agrarian r
He made a big fuss in the Rajya Sabha while opposing the bill related to agricultural reform. Trinamool’s Derek O’Brien even pulled the microphone and rule book in front of Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan. Opposition lawmakers staged a sit-in protest in Corona against the Kovid ban.

After that, the situation became so dramatic that Derek O’Brien went in front of Harivansh Narayan, the deputy chairman in charge of the meeting, and pulled out the rule book and mic. As punishment for that incident, Rajya Sabha Chairman Benakia Naidu fired a total of eight opposition MPs, including Trinamool MPs Derek O’Brien and Dola Sen.
Apart from Derek and Dola, the list of sacked includes Rajiv Satav of the Congress, Syed Nasir Hussain, Ripun Bora, Sanjay Singh of AAP, KK Rajesh of CPIM, and Elamaram Karim of CPIM. Benaki Naidu called a meeting at his residence on Sunday to protest the opposition MPs in the Rajya Sabha.
Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan, Railway Minister Piyush Goel, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi were also present at the meeting. Only then did it become clear that Derek, Dola, and other opposition MPs would face severe punishment.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh Derek also criticized Dolade’s behavior in the Rajya Sabha. He said the commotion of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha was very shameful and against the dignity of the Parliament. He also claimed that the opposition was misleading the people with the agricultural bill.
